Brian O'Shea, CEO of The Exchange, announced today the acquisition of international sales rights to the award-winning short-turned-feature MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH.   The Exchange and Serotonin Films closed the deal this week and production is scheduled to begin early this summer.

MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH is directed by Daniel Jerome Gill (MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH), the Britlist selected original screenplay is written by Philip Gawthorne and produced by Dominic Norris (GUILTY HEARTS, COMEDOWN) of Serotonin Films, music supervised by Ian Neil (SNATCH, KICK-ASS, Nowhere Boy).

The film's stellar cast includes Jack Lowden (PAN, Weinstein/BBC War & Peace, 71) and Freya Mavor (Skins, The White Queen, Sunshine on Leith) as the leads, both Screen International Stars of Tomorrow.

Jack Lowden won an Olivier award for his performance in the critically acclaimed play, 'Ghosts'

First brought together by their shared love of music, ten years on Liam (LOWDEN) and Natalie (MAVOR) have reached a breaking point. Opposites attract, but aren't necessarily working long-term. Liam, a struggling musician, cannot let go of his vinyl collection and refuses to adapt to world of smartphones and instant downloads. Natalie has let go of her dream of designing album covers and has become a rising star at her advertising firm. As they make the difficult decision to separate, they start by splitting their prized music library. But the soundtrack that defined their relationship keeps pulling them back together.

"MODEN LIFE IS RUBBISH is a commercial, winning, mainstream romantic comedy with music at its heart", said O'Shea from The Exchange. "These wonderful actors will make the movie come to life, helping it to be a global success."
